Little bit of kitty~ma requested. Joe just had to take Elliot to the emergency vet. Elliot found some curling ribbon somewhere and ate it, as is in a cat's nature. So come kitty~ ma and some please-don't-let-this-break-the-bank-account~ma, por favor.

6 September, back again, tra frickin' la.
I'm spending my own personal Danger Day this year dangerously close to my own personal Ground Zero, and I'm spending it with people who were there to watch it go down, way back when.
Vibes for me getting through this without leaving early and driving off a mountain road would be appreciated. This is going to be tricky. Or, alternately, a telephone call confirming a piano.
Thanks.
If there's a little extra ~ma floating around for strangers who are Friends-of-Buffistas, you could aim it at my neighbor Loretta. She's going to have a four hour surgery tomorrow to repair two aneurysms.
In happy news: Last time I asked for ~ma, we got a good outcome. The baby did have to have surgery for his hernia, but that was uncomplicated and now he's doing very well. Thanks to all who spared a thought.
My mother needs IRS-ma. I should have asked for it yesterday, but I didn't think to.
For those who knew about my intent to buy a certain piano, I've just got a letter about it from the man in whose possession it was for a very long time.
Benmont Tench, of Tom Petty's band, beat me to the punch.
Hi from Dublin! Just wanted to let you know that, despite bumps that included my car blowing up and having my stuff stolen, I've managed to get settled in here in Ireland relatively easily and am now in possession of an apartment, a job, and something resembling a social life. It's not a bad situation to be in! I miss you all, hope everything is well with you.
Going dark grey until Monday night as I head to Chicago for the Touch & Go 25th Anniversary festival.
Look Ma! I've got a TV show!
So, I'm a complete idiot. I totally failed to pimp my TV show, which was broadcast on Comedy Central LAST NIGHT.
However, being Comedy Central, they have generously agreed to give me several more broadcasts, that I may pimp it to you again, so here it is:
Legends: Rodney Dangerfield is the first in (we hope) a new series of documentaries that take you inside the mind of legendary comediens from the people and fellow comics who knew him best. Our premiere broadcast was last night, but you may catch it again at any of the following times --
Tuesday 9/12 at 10:00pm, and again at Midnight Thursday 9/14 at 7:00pm and Saturday 9/16 at 7:00pm
I'm sure they'll rerun it a time or two after that, but those are the ones listed at the CC web site. SET YOUR VCR! SET YOUR TiVo! TELL YOUR WIFE AND KIDS (if they still talk to you)!
And if you'd like to see some clips, go here, and look in the bottom of the right hand column.
I'll be dark a little while longer, but for those who know what the hell I'm talking about... She said yes.
Mom goes into surgery at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time. She is getting her hip replaced. She's been in a great deal of pain for some time now, and physical therapy has stopped working. So, this is a good thing. But, still, surgery is scary. Any ~ma you can spare is greatly appreciated.
