When I announced that my church had burned last month (only last month!), several folks asked how they could donate. A little finger-crossing would be appreciated; just learned that my husband's entire department may be laid off as early as next week, as part of the company's big re-org.

My friend is in SF for several days for a business trip. The bars they are showing him are superexpensive, and maybe not quite the taste he's interested.
Can any Bay-ista with a few seconds to spare e-me (profile addy is great)? Just pretend I am coming to SF, and send me suggestions for fun bars, cool restauarants, and neato places to see? Shane's a cool guy, so I'd love to set him up with an insider's list of What to Do, See and Eat in SF.
