My dad passed away yesterday.

He wasn't in the best of health, but his death was very sudden ("It's always sudden"). I'm thankful that it came quickly -- He had a brain aneurysm sometime during the night and died late in the morning.

I'm in Phoenix until Tuesday, and will obviously be gray until Tuesday night.

Oh, Jon, I'm so so sorry.

My news is that we got a puppy! He's not coming home till next week (he has to be fixed first), but he is OURS ALL OURS. Here is a picture of him from two weeks ago (he's a lot bigger now):

My father passed away today. He'd been in declining health ever since my mother died a year ago. He was 89 and his body just gradually shut down. So it wasn't unexpected and frankly, he's missed my mother so much it was a mercy that he finally let go. Not sure when the memorial is yet, but any condolence ~ma should be sent to my family up in Iowa.

Again with the condolence ~ma, I'm afraid. A very good friend passed away in the night; it was quite quick at the end, and he'd been sick a long time. Any extra ~ma for his son, who at nineteen is now without a mother and a father, would be appreciated.

A request for interview~ma: the first of my interviews starts at 2PM, and I'm starting to get nervous.

In slightly less distressing news, my flight home to the States is today at 2.30 central time. I'd appreciate any stray thoughts of travel-ma while I'm going home to finish my last semester of college.

I need to ask for some interview ~ma. Or in this case some second-interview~ma.

I applied for one position with a written interview, but got called in for a f2f interview Monday for a different position. when I got there on Monday, I was given to a third person to interview for a third position. Now I just got a call for a second f2f interview, but for the second position on Thursday at 3 pm CST.

Update: Matt's mom seems to be holding her own. Tires very easily, but still 100% with us.
