One year ago.

One year ago today, I fell and broke my face. Only by whatever grace I have did I avoid breaking my neck.

As such, I'm considering this my new year. I'm preparing to embark on a whole new phase of life - moving 2000 miles away from the place and the man that I've known and loved for 6 years.

Your support and love has been invaluable to me. I'd like to take this opportunity to humbly apologize for any offense I may have given, unintentionally or not, and to beg for your forgiveness. If I have offended you, please let me know via email so that I may make such amends as I may.

Again, thank you. This board has been an oasis in some very rough times, and I appreciate it.

I'm going back to full-time employment starting today, so I expect to be dark gray for at least the next few weeks as I adjust to my new schedule.

HUGE congratulations to NoiseDesign, who just tonight won an LA Ovation award, complete with fancy statuette and ritzy ceremony at the Orpheum. He was nominated for sound design in both large and small theatre and won large theatre. This is a big deal, and I'm incredibly proud of him.

Plus? Acceptance speech in a kilt. Dude.

Bartleby has broken off half of his major molar. I can see a spot of blood, which must mean an exposed nerve. That's gotta hurt.

Plus? He's already had the other major molar removed...two years ago...that one broke too.

Please. Less pain, great new doggie dentist, please, Godless expensive but just as good care, quick appointment ~ma. If there is any to spare.

Releasing a little job~ma back into the wild for thems as needs it. I got offered the position in my department that I applied for (what seems months ago, now) and have accepted it.

Jilli is back from surgery. All is well, she was in and out of surgery in under an hour. She's still groggy and will probably be doing her birthday celebrations this weekend.

Starting this month, I will have a monthly column in the Comic Buyer's Guide about manga.

I have a phone interview at 5:30 my time (3:30 Pacific) for a position in one of the bank offices out in SF. I really want this, so that I can make the transition/move with a minimum of worry. So please, send good thoughts and "don't babble too much"~ma toward me then.

My cell phone commited ritual sacrifice by throwing itself out of the car and under my tires. It's tragic but I should have a new one maybe Monday-ish. Until then, email?

Bartleby's oral surgery ended up being much more complex than anticipated. He went in for one broken tooth, but the docs found a jaw abscess and took out two.

He's still in pain, but recovering nicely. What a relief. Many thanks for all good thoughts.
