For those who have been following it, my pregnancy saga is approaching the end phase. I'm now at nearly 36 weeks without any further incidents, which is a huge relief; the baby should now definitely be viable if she had to come out, for whatever reason.
Unfortunately, the closer we get to my due date (end of August), the more the risks increase again. So on the advice of my doctors I'm going back to hospital again for observation starting tomorrow morning. If everything continues to go according to plan, and no emergency situations arise, I'll have a scheduled c-section probably around the second week of August.
It's a brand new wing of the same hospital I was in before, opened last weekend, and theoretically with internet access, though nobody could tell us if this was actually working yet. So I may be back online, maybe not, but if I am I'll check back in and keep you posted.
Some of that patented Buffista ~ma (healthy baby ~ma, good birth ~ma, etc. etc.) in our direction would be much appreciated. Thanks!
We just got a call that DH's mom is in the hospital. Lyme Disease or some evil varient. She was bitten Less than 48 hours ago, but she has other health problems. Please send health ma~
Well, I'm on my way across the country to my new home in Burbank. The car is a tad full—even more so when you consider the two extremely unhappy felines in the back. 77 miles in, and we've already had to stop three times for various cat trauma. Hoping for smoother sailing for the next 3300+ miles. Safe travel and happy new life -ma would be appreciated. I don't know if I've ever been more terrified...or more excited...in my life.
This afternoon I'm having a 'get to know you over coffee' meeting with the hiring manager for the full-time job I applied for.
Yes, we want to interview you
~ma would be greatly appreciated.
Hey there y'all. Almanzo and I have finally got everything set down for our move, and in between Milwaukee and Sydney, we've got a couple days in LA from August 4-7.
Now I have AIM. My screen name is DoctorFateJSA (I got it for a role playing game) but now that I have it, people can add me to their buddy lists. (Because I'm still figuring out how to do that.)
I got into library school! I'll be starting at Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science this fall.
I just wanted to let everyone know that, 3101 miles and four days of hard driving later, I arrived in Burbank last night around 11. I guess this makes me an Laista! I haven't forgotten my roots, though—my inner Somervillian will stay strong.
Thanks for all the support along the way.
I'm back in Brooklyn, safe and sound after a slightly more eventful drive home than we'd planned (minor car accident in the middle of upstate NY -- only the car was hurt, but since we had to stop and replace a blown-out tire, we got home a day late).
Canada was wonderful, and I miss it already. I'm thousands of posts behind, but sloooowly catching up.
[eta: Photos from the trip begin here (just click "next" until you get to the end -- "prev" will take you back in time to last year's pics). Titles and descriptions are forthcoming.]
This is my last yapping at you until I'm a couple timezones away. So if anyone in LA would like to just say hi or offer directions to a Roscoe's or something, please leave a message on Almanzo's (aka. Chris) cell phone - 414-807-7088. We hope to see a few people while we're out there from the 4th to the 7th.
