Update

My father in law is stable, is able to sit up and is asking for his knitting. Downside is he requires a double bypass operation, and because it is merely a double, they keep on putting it off. They estimate at the moment Wednesday or Thursday, but they seem to keep on moving it two days into the future...

Keep the 'ma coming. Will inform on how the surgery goes (and when it goes.)

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Woohoo!

Just got a voicemail from Mom (can't believe I missed the call while taking out the trash, and she's not picking up on the cell phone now). The tests Dad had week before last show no cancer in his brain or lungs. They're going to give him three more chemo treatments (which I think means the three he's having this week, not three of the monthly rounds he's been doing), radiate his lungs once more, and call it good.

My dad is the toughest man in the world. And maybe he'll live to see my first book, my as-yet-100%-hypothetical second child, and Annabel old enough to remember him after all.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm going to be in Israel until the end of the month, and probably without much computer access, so I'll be pretty much dark for awhile.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

We put in a bid on the townhouse we saw this weekend. As this market is insane, some house~ma would be much appreciated.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Surgery was abruptly scheduled for this morning at 7am, for good reasons. With luck soon the 'ma will be released back into the wild.

Releasing all job~ma back into the ether. I got one of the jobs I wanted - the one still here at Big!Bank. Promotion, raise, and a new environment. Rock. On.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm outta here. Gone on vacation until about July 8th. To the land of single line dial up. Have fun while I'm gone.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

A favour to ask:

Does anyone have a spare sofa in San Diego for one night: 13 August, a Saturday? A livejournal buddy from back east will be in town for a conference that weekend, and very kindly bought me an airline ticket to fly down and hook up with her - but her hotel is booked solid and I'm very cash-poor at the moment. I'd be leaving Sunday evening, the next day.

Baked goods, as an exchange, are offered.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister
