Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Healthma requested for my dad, who's had three TIA's (transient ischemic attacks--sort of like a mini-stroke that doesn't leave lasting damage but can be a precursor of worse things) in the past three days. He's in the hospital and will be at least through Monday. It's probably being caused by leftover damage from the heart attack he had back in 1991 (and I know that description doesn't make sense, but I heard this from my brother who heard it from my aunt, so I'm working through some filters here), but there's a tiny chance it could be a brain tumor. So he's being looked over by cardiologists, neurologists, and oncologists at this point.

Our wings are not tired

I need to request some heavy duty ~ma for a very dear friend of mine. She has to fly out to FL to be with her family. Her dad is in the midst of chemo treatment and is now in the ICU and they are having problems stabilizing him. He may not make it through the next few days. I've spent the last few hours with her and feel horrible that I get on a plane out of town first thing in the morning. So yeah, ~ma for her, and for her Dad and her family.

All is well that ends in pizza.

My nephew Chris may be rotating stateside. His unit was moved to Kuwait on Thursday, so he's out of Bagdad. Requesting any residual low-level ~ma to be refreshed to return him (and others) home.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

This is a slightly odd request, but could y'all send some -ma to an anonymous Buffista in need of support?

Much appreciated.

Our wings are not tired

My friend that needed the ~ma just called to inform me that he father passed away tonight. She and her family were all together when it happened, for which she is very thankful.

Thrive to spite them

My Dad had a heart attack this morning. My grandma evidentally forgot my number and where mom worked and so Mom got a messag when she got home and called me.

I talked to him -- he realized what was going on and called work then 911. But it was mild and he has a stent and that's all I know.

We still have to figure out how to tell my brother who's in NZ.

Lots and lots of all kinds of ~ma please.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Continued healthma requested for my dad. He hasn't had any further TIA's, but one of the many scans they've done revealed a spot on one of his lungs, so they did a surgical biopsy today. There was some lymphatic involvement as well, and the surgeon is almost certain it's cancer, but they won't know for a few days what kind. And it's possible, even likely, that it has nothing to do with the TIA's.

Dammit.

All is well that ends in pizza.

My sister Jeannie called. My nephew Chris is home from Iraq.

Nope, not a furlough. The good kind of home.

move out and draw fire

Health-ma request for my brother-in-law. The bottom 1/3 of his esophagus has changed to intestinal tissue (I guess this is called Barrett's syndrome) which is considered a precancerous situation. He's on meds, but the one oncologist in town is moving in two weeks. So ~ma for the meds working, and whatever lifestyle changes he needs to implement.
