I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I passed the first actuarial exam.

I'm very pleased.

If anyone would like to offer me a job, profile addy is good.

Kidding. Sort of.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

My uncle is home from the hospital today. It looks like all the problems are related to some special kind of irregular heartbeat, but fortunately, it seems that they are able to control it with medication. Releasing health most ~ma to the universe, although I would appreciate small amounts for his continued healing. Thanks all!

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Emerging briefly to announce that I have passed the second actuarial exam. Yay!!!!

Also: Hey, -t, good going, and good luck! *secret actuarial handshake* If you want to talk about actuarial job hunting (I was recently successful), profile addy is good.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I believe our favorite tag-catcher was only in the northern part of India, but it's a little nerve-wracking to not know for sure. I just wanted to let everyone know that he's expected back on the 10th. Safety-ma to him and to his family, please...

The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

(I was, indeed, clear on the other side of the country. Sorry to have caused worry!)

Our wings are not tired

I'm now moved into my new place and will be having a house warming party on Saturday January 15th.

As opposed to posting all the directions and such here, if you're in the area and would like to come, drop me an e-mail and I'll send you the information.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

For those who were curious about my thing on CBS and missed it, there's a nice article with pictures and quotes and recap at the CBS website.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Attention Chicago area Buffistas!

Fred Pete is in town and we will be gathering to bask in his presence and eat damn good pizza at Gino's East (at Wells and Ontario) at 6:30 pm tomorrow (Tuesday the 11th).

Please let me know if you plan on joining us, just so we can make sure we get a big enough table. I'll try to check my e-mail around 5 pm and I'll leave my cell# in my profile until I get home tomorrow evening.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Will be grey a lot of the time now, I think. Or less present, since the office just implemented some fairly tight internet controls, and there's really no justifiable argument that B.org is "work-related". More's the pity. People looking for me should try my profile address.

Punishingly Intricate

Could we get some of that patented buffista -ma up here in the 'More today? My best friend's dad is having open heart surgery at Hopkins this morning. He's a great dad and just an all around good guy. They do the surgery all the time there so he's in good hands and he's in great health (aside from his faulty valve) so it should go smoothly. But it is open heart surgery and it's scary.

move out and draw fire

I've been darker than predicted, and will continue to be pretty dark for a few days, as we've guests in town and are doing all the touristy things.
