A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The radio show I host? My first program was on June 28, 1984. That means it's my 20th anniversary!

This Friday and next, from 8-10am EDT, I'll be doing a retrospective, playing a few songs from each of the last 20 years. Indie-rock songs that "defined" either that year in general or my show in particular.

It's broadcast on WMBR, 88.1 fm in Cambridge, MA, and online at [link]

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Closing on my new house this morning. NEW HOUSE LIKES CARROTS!!!!!

I'll be darkish gray over the coming week as I move in and close out the apt.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Some serious healing and general recovery -ma would be great. A friend of mine (one I've requested some good vibes for in the past), her SO just came out of a hellish round of mis-diagnosis the upshot of which is that they had to take the rest of his leg (he'd already lost part of the foot) 4 inches below the knee, so PT and a prosthetic are going on as I speak. The good news of this is that he is out of the agonizing pain he has been in for the last half year plus.

Thankfully his second round of doctors figured out he was allergic to the anti-coagulents that the first round put him on (upshot of allergy being that the drugs CREATED more blood clots).

I'd like to also request some energy-ma for them since they've been too focused on just, say, making sure he didn't die (a 30% chance from how things ended up) to even think about any legal action. But if EVER I've heard a case for malpractice, this is fucking it.

Got an unofficial Internet use smackdown at work today, and most likely will be dark but for evenings and weekends. If you've got anything you want to be certain reaches me, best bet is e-mail.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Yet another long whooooosh of relief, two weeks later.

Nic passed his background check with flying colours. He starts Monday morning, on his 49th and my 50th birthday.

Thanks, all.

Oh, man.

For those who knew Selena Ullrich (kitsune76 at livejournal), I just got word from London: she was in hospital for chemo to treat her leukemia, got an infection, and her organs went into systemic failure. She's gone.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am on my way to the airport (to watch Sparky1 get married and see Plei!!) and will be dark for the weekend, and then will dark gray until Mid-July for work reasons.

Trust my rage

Got back from Brazil this morning. We had a great time. The beach was great, the food was greater, and the friends were the greatest. Although I love living in the US, I really felt like I was home while I was there.

Here are some photos from our trip.

(I am the one wearing the glasses.)

Also, in a side note, I saw ads for Wonderfalls which will start there on July 8. It looked like they would be showing the whole season.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hi. I'm on the road. (You can tell, 'cause I keep moving my pin on our map.) Went on a spiffy family vacation to the local amusement park last weekend. One niece passed out twice (low blood pressure), and one broke her arm in three places. Not actually quite as amusing as the advertisement.

Niece number two is going in for surgery Wednesday at 11:00 Indy time, so your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Two of the three breaks are okay and will heal, but the third is pretty bad and needs set, thus the surgery. We're hoping for the least invasive process as possible, once they get in there and see how bad it is. Our goal is no screws necessary.
