A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I have arrived in San Francisco for the weekend of Zmayhem. Those wishing to contact me through Monday should note that response time will be slower than usual.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Some of you know that I have been dealing with what feels like more than my fair share of crap of late. Two more things joined the pile today. I am going dark early; my best wishes to Hec and JZ, and to all of you attending the F2F. Be nice to each other.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I have new bird pictures up here.

The wrens did the best. The cardinal nest got wiped out by a hail storm a few weeks ago, but I got some nice shots of the female. The blue jays finished fledging and left the nest before I realized it, but again there are some nice pix of their mama.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I'm going dark until Wednesday evening, just in time for the final Angel watch and post. Must head to CA for work, and any "getting-home-in-time~ma" for the finale would be appreciated.

Punishingly Intricate

My grandmom, who had hip replacement surgery two weeks ago, died suddenly last night. i'm very sad. She was recovering pretty well but she developed an infection and her heart stopped suddenly late last night. we were close, you know, and i'm really going to miss being able to talk to her. She had a long and full life and, among many other things, helped raise a passel of pretty decent humans. it's going to be hard.

I'm also sad because I won't be able to go to the F2F and I was really looking forward to meeting a bunch of you fine people.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I'd like to request some exam-ma for tomorrow morning -- I'll be writing the first Society of Actuaries exam. Four hours of fun-filled multiple choice math! I can hardly wait.

Hi all, just reporting that I've made it safely to Boston and have now settled in for the night at the AYH Youth Hostel in Back Bay. My belly is full of Little Steve's pizza and Sam Adams beer, I've attended a free stand up comedy night, and palled around on the subway with various travellers. Looking forward to seeing all the Sommervillians and Bostonians tomorrow night for the Angel finale!

Trust my rage

Just wanted to say that we accepted an offer for our house today! We got what we wanted, so that and having the house (fingers-crossed) sold is a big relief.

This means that we will be moving to North Carolina (raleigh area) in July. I'm looking forward to hopefully meeting any Buffistas out that way.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Going dark for a week starting Saturday morning for a week, so email will likely go unread for awhile.
