"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I have indeed arrived. London is wonderful, if a bit cold and gray, and my feet already hurt from all the museum-walking, but somehow I'll survive. Anyone who wants a postcard, e-mail me at my profile, and I'll try to get them out.

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

I'm scheduled for a fetal assessment tomorrow so that the weight of the babe can be guesstimated. (The Blue Eyed Boy was so oversized that there's some concern this one - since second children are often bigger - may be truly enormous.) As well, due to an unusual combination of circumstances, this will actually be the first ultrasound I've had.

Now, this has been a completely uneventful pregnancy to date so there's no reason to be paranoid - but still, if the Buffistas can spare some "healthy, non-elephant-sized baby" vibes tomorrow afternoon, it would really help our peace of mind.

Thanks, everyone.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Hey. We're in the process of setting up our new computer. Which means our Internet access will be spotty for a couple of days at home.

In the mean time, we will be reachable by phone, smoke signal or carrier pigeon. Communication via mystical sigil will work well, but the use of ninja as courier is discouraged. As always, shouting really loud may not be effective, but is fun.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Please send a little of the patented Buffista jobma my way at 2pm Eastern time. Thanks ever so.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Extreme Jobma needed. Aquent corporation is "presenting" me for a short term Mac Tech position with Target HQ in Minneapolis.

If Target wants to interview me, it'll be as soon as Thursday afternnon, or as late as Monday.

And the pay will be good. Sadly only short term thru February.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My mother is gravely ill. We are sitting vigil with her. Please wish her a peaceful passage. Thanks.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

First, I want to thank Kat for sharing my sad news. She and Lori have become such good friends. It's times like these that I realize how much I have come to rely on her.

My mother passed away last night. She spent the past few years struggling against a terrible illness, but her death was very loving and peaceful. All her children were with her.

I loved her more than I can say. I'll miss her terribly.

Her obituary will appear in the LA Times this weekend. The funeral on Sunday.

Thank you all for your kindness and condolences. It means a lot.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Having a smashing time in London, increased by the fact that Thursday night, I went to see The Pirates of Penzance. 4th row, center. Pirate King played by...Anthony Stewart Head.

The man, if I may say, looks damn good in leather pants and eyeliner.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Thanks for the Jobma folks, but Target decided to go in-house for their Mac Tech guy.

Oh well.
