Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I was interviewed by Shawn!

Well, not really-- but it was a first year litigator and I kept wondering if she was a porny as the one we have here.

The partner, however, was called into a meeting-- so I'm back again tomorrow.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Regarding my interview this morning:

I hit it out of the park. If I don't get hired, it's because it wasn't meant to be, and the other candidate is more qualified. I highlighted all the experience and skills that correspond, how my future goals work with this position, how I want to work in higher ed, and that uuniversity specifically, how I have references from there, and also just generally clicked and brought up stuff before they could ask it. There was great chemistry with the interviewers. I had a really good time.

Out of 250+ resumes they got, they are only doing 2 interviews! Wow.

So, please, keep that jobma coming! The other candidate is interviewing tomorrow, and I should know shortly thereafter.

This would be a really good job for me and I need all the ~ma I can get!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Review went great and my overall score was "Above Average".

Thank you guys for all the vibes and the ~ma and the congrats. Feels so good. At Hellhole, I knew when things were wrong cause I would get told when they were wrong. Here, it's in the review and makes it a bit nervewracking because I wasn't sure what to expect.

My job duties are being expanded, I'm getting a kick ass bonus and a salary raise and they are making me a bigger part of the team.

Whoot!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Currently posting from the Apple store in SoHo, but going back to RI tonight, and any Internship-ma that isn't being tied up by sending job-ma ND-way (and he totally should get more than me) would be great. I interviewed at Sesame Workshop today and I really want them to like me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hello. My childhood friend's brother's baby boy is seriously ill and in the hospital. He has an infection that they can't determine the cause of, and they don't know what the underlying (heart) problem stems from either. He's in a holding pattern until they can get the infection cleared up long enough to do surgery, placing a tube in his heart. The doctors are unsure of what the disease is, and therefore unsure of the problem. Bone marrow? Transplants? My friend is staying with her brother and his wife and taking turns in the hospital. Her brother, also my friend, currently has a cold, and can't be in the hospital with his son.

For those of us LotR folks, the baby's name is Jacob Treebeard. Please be in prayer and/or meditation and/or health and survivalma for him, and for his family.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Not exactly earth-shattering, but had first ever Parents' Evening this week and it went v. well. Am almost at end of First Term as a teacher at school here in foreign parts and am still enjoying it tremendously -- hello vocation, and all that. V. sorry have been so infrequent a visitor around these parts, but v. much enjoying job despite the fact that it's completely eaten my life.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've been meaning to ask for review-ma, as my annual review is coming up here at work, but I wasn't sure when it was going to happen.

Turns out it was 15 minutes ago and it...was even better than I expected!!!!!

Totally psyched - another really good review, and this year I had two people I was working for, rather than one.

My salary upgrade will be based on the results of the review, as will my bonus (yes, we're still getting both where I work), so this is a big deal. I've been doing well up to now, but this really is a surprise.

Of course, I'm still waiting for them to catch on to me (I always feel that way).

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Okay, so not apocalyptic, but still damn exciting to me:

Franny rolled over all by herself today. We've reached a minor milestone, which is good. I can no longer leave her on the bed unattended, which is bad.
