Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Any jobma that can be flung NYCwards in the next few minutes would be much appreciated.

The flaky job has reappeared and it looks as though they are making an acutal, imminent, offer.

Thrive to spite them

Christmas came early this year!

I'm going to the Bay Area to see BUFFISTAS!!!

Right now it looks like I'll be out there the week of Vetern's Day (Nov 11th). I realize that's rather soon, but it's sort of a surprise early Christmas thing.

I haven't gotten the exact dates and times pinned down but email me at:

alilz AT msn.com

so I can figure out things.

Edited to make the date clearer.

Not javachik

I'll be mostly black for the next few days - out of town on a business trip. I always check email, if anyone needs to reach me.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Well, before askye goes to San Francisco, I'm going to be there, from Wednesday (tomorrow) through Monday.

All may envy me.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'm going to Paris tomorrow! I'll be visiting a friend there for two weeks. So if you have any envy left to spare after giving it to SF-bound Teppy, you may direct it my way.

Now tagless for your comfort.

A little exam-ma would be appreciated for the DH. He's taking what could be his final actuarial exam this morning. He's put in over 400 hours of studying and it would be a huge relief for him to pass and get his fellowship in the CAS.

OK, I have the unofficial word that I"m being laid off. Vibe me massive benefits and severance-ma, eh?

Thrive to spite them

I just got the exact dates of my trip to San Francisco!

I'll be arriving on Tuesday Nov 11 around noon and leaving Sunday morning (really really early) Nov 17th.

When y'all get through envying Steph you can envy me!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Birth Announcement

Ladies and gentlemen, it's a series!

St. Martins Press has just officially bought the second and third books of the Child Ballad series. $6K per title, and my agent got them to drop the joint accounting.

Actual book birthdates for the babies - "Famous Flower of Serving Men" and "Matty Groves" - will be posted as announced.

In the meantime?

WHEEEEEEEEE!

"You got twelve, and they got twelve. The old ladies are just as good as you are." -Dr. Einstein

For NYC Buffistas (or those Buffistas who might be in NYC in mid-January) these are the dates of performance of our production of Arsenic and Old Lace (I'm Dr. Einstein) here at the Almagamated Housing in the Bronx:

Friday Jan. 9 at 8 pm, Saturday Jan. 10 at 2 and 8, Sunday Jan. 11 at 2, Friday Jan. 16 at 8, Saturday the 17th at 2 and 8, and last performance Sunday Jan. 17 at 2. I'll post a reminder and directions come January, but I hope to see some of you in the audience (I think it will be a decent production).

And while I'm here-Congrats to Deborah!
