I'm going to see to Wesley, see if he's still whimpering.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

amych: Fictional teen-drama pizza doesn't count. They always have good pizza in those places.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Matt the Bruins fan in Firefly on what to do with very nasty people:

See, I'm afraid if I started kicking people into the engine, it would be like eating potato chips.

mmm, cannoli. I completely understand why mobsters pause in whacking for those.

Liese S.:

My generation has already passed its hip tie-in merchandising phase. Won't be long until we're out of the target demographic. Then we'll just have to get on with our sorry apathetic lives and lie in the gutter with a surly but amusing expression on our faces.

shrift is very photogenic, particularly when she smile-scowls at the camera. We shall call it smowls.

In Natter, after Amych's upthread query re: speed of -ma:

Emily:It is of course notoriously difficult to measure the effects or time-to-impact of -ma, since once the need for -ma is observed the observer is immediately involved in the -ma process.

Nilly: Schrodinger's -ma, of course - once you notice it, you change it.

Gus: We posit that "Good" and "Bad" are two states applicable to –ma and karmic fields. The states are mutually repellent (possibly due to anti-charm). Therefore, good-ma propagates less freely in a bad-karma field. As Emily notes, the good/bad state of the observer may also enter into the describing mathematics.
