Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Nobody

OK, then, the vowel in "ball," to me, is the same as the one in "sort", whereas the one in "Bali" is the same as the one in "fart" (removing the "r" sounds in both cases). Does that help? Because I refuse to believe that "sort" can rhyme with "fart."

Angus G in Natter. I think it's just my warped mind - but for me it was the

that made it all funny.

(and no Angus, you're right, because "sort" should rhyme with "fort" which shouldn't be a homophone for the other word)

Nutty, in Literary:

I read two pages of Foucault's Pendulum. And then my brain shorted out and I had to read picture books for a while, just to get the hang of how normal people use sentences.

Also, I kept wondering how a dead French leather queen had invented the pendulum in between critiques of western civilization.

Hey. I was 18 or so.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Dana in Buffy 1 (nonspoilery):

Oh, I love continuity. It's my favorite -ity ever.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Erika J:

I was a bit conservative then. (No, really. Not with the big "C." Just shy and inclined to pastels.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It's in no way prudish to think that sex talk has its own time and place, like whenever three or more Buffistas have gathered in Joss' name.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Hi everyone...all the talk of dingoes and things they eat reminds me that my sister is going to be in this new Australian opera called Lindy, or as I've nicknamed it A Dingo Ate My High C, which is based on the Chamberlain case (ie the case the dingo movie was also based on). It starts on Friday. Apparently it is truly dreadful (and unintentionally funny). My sister has the plum role of The Textiles Expert. She gets to pronounce (or rather sing) authoritatively about bloodstains on jumpsuits and the like.

Angus G. in Natter

That sounds, um, not very good, Angus. But maybe it'll help get her a part on CSI: Sydney in two years.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Betsy in Buffy 1 (white fonted but not really spoilery):

I think I just had a continuitygasm.

Um, DXM, it's not whitefonted on my screen.

Megan E. in Natter:

Interviewer: So, if you are working on a complex assignment and the answers are not compiling as you expected, how do you approach finding a solution.

Megan: I assume that it's insane troll logic and go Out. For. A. Walk..... Bitch.
