A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

I guess so, yes.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

'Boffin' tends to be used for 'real' scientists, yeah, although I've seen it used for experts in general.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Sorry still pursuing Brit speak. Are there any particular UK equilvalents for "a rising tide lifts all boats" and "win-win". Apparently these American terms have migrated to your island, but I can't help but wonder if Tories have not invented some version of their own. After all, the "Manchester School" preceded US Libertarianism by generations; so I can't help but think there must be some UK cliche not borrowed from the USA along this line.

Win-win is absolutely normal Britspeak nowadays. Sorry, but my mind is a blank on further equivalents. Will get back to you.

A double batch of birthday wishes for the Smay - Zmayhem household, love and peace vibes winging their way from right at the bottom of 'Down Under'.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awww, thank you, moonlit!

It was my FiL's bday yesterday, so he took us all out to a Fancy Dinner tonight and we were certainly feted.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Anyone watch Hinterland? Opinions?

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Oh fuck. It's been a long time since I've been here but I'm still a Buffista at heart. I just read the news on FB and couldn't quite process it until I came here to double-check. I still can't process it but I have to accept the veracity of what I read. A world without ita is a sad, sad place. Deepest condolences to all the Buffistas and to all her other friends and family. I know everyone is as heart-broken as myself. :( :( :(

Vale ita

Good to see you here, eviljimi, despite the circumstances. You too, John H (and now I finally found out who you "are" vis à vis the other place, I had no idea).

Has anybody been in touch with moonlit?
