I thought it was fun, although plotwise it wasn't remotely like the book I remember. Dirk was a bit more of a con man that I recall, but it's cloudy.

Dirk Gently: Just watched it this evening. I never read the book. I was bored at first but thought it picked up and was good fun by the end. The only problem I had plotwise was: How did the iPhone still work??! That's a hell of a battery!

I'm midway through Season 2. It's an interesting watch, though it's kind of too coarse for me sometimes. I will have more thoughts when I finish.
I am *so* loving Downton Abbey. I can't believe they're dumbing it down for US audiences. I'm not entirely sure what needs to be simplified. I'd never heard of "entail" before, and I get it.
