is anyone else reminded of this Catherine Tate character
Tiggy, that's the first thing that came to my mind when I first watched Misfits!

I *like* the Catherine Tate character so much more than Kelly. What is her accent? Why is she always yelling?
She drives me more bananas than Nathan, which isn't right.
The accent is Essex Chav, if I recall correctly.
There was a marginally embarrassing moment when the Misfits cast was being interviewed on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross (available on youtube) when JR splurted, "Oh my God, I thought that accent was put on!"
wiki reference:
Chav (pronounced /ˈtʃæv/ (CHAV)) is a derogatory term used to describe certain young people in the United Kingdom. Also known as a charver in Yorkshire and North East England[1] "chav" is often used to describe aggressive teenagers, of white working class background, who repeatedly engage in anti-social behaviour such as street drinking, drug abuse and rowdiness, or other forms of juvenile delinquency.[2]
* The character, clothing, attitude and musical interests of Lauren Cooper and her friends Lisa and Ryan in the BBC comedy series The Catherine Tate Show have been associated with the chav stereotype.[33]
* In an episode of the revived Doctor Who (episode "New Earth"), antagonist Cassandra takes over the body of Rose Tyler. Cassandra, who considers herself very much a member of the upper class, sees herself in a mirror as the working-class Rose and exclaims in horror, "Oh my God! I'm a chav!"
* In the Channel Four drama series Misfits, the character Kelly is a stereotypical Chav and is often referred to as a one.
JR splurted, "Oh my God, I thought that accent was put on!"
I feel shame in saying this, but I absolutely hate how she speaks. I don't know if it's the accent or her intonation, but it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.
eta: London chav accents don't bother me in the least. In fact, most accents don't which is why I wonder if it's her personal intonation.
Also, in re: that interview...I was not totally surprised to see that the fellow who plays Nathan IS Nathan, if you get my drift.
tiggy, I'm not much for fanvids, as a rule, but that one is gorgeous.
i'm always fascinated when someone says this. what don't you like about fanvids?
Tiggy, that's the first thing that came to my mind when I first watched Misfits!
right?! i keep expecting her to say she aint bovvered.
I like all of the characters. though i find Curtis pretty bland. Simon has fascinated me from minute one.
The fanvids I've wandered across (without Buffista recommendation, which could be the problem right there) tend to be pretty disjointed. As if the vidder said HEY-I like this song...and these pictures...they MUST go together, even if they don't.
I have, seen a couple pimped around these parts that were really good. It's just not a genre I seek out.
Sturgeon's Law is pretty wide-reaching.
