Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

your cousin is Diane Abbott? I'm very glad she's running.

Yeah. Thanks. She probably stands no chance in hell, but at least she's a different choice from the rest, you know?

Will check out the Guardian link.

I'm completely behind her (yes, partly because she's a woman, although also because she actually seems to give a damn). It's definitely a good thing that she's a real alternative.

Someone catch me up on Luther. Worth getting hold of, since I missed it?

Always Anti-fascist!

If it ever crosses the Pond, I'll watch it, but I'm an Idris fangirl.

Hrm, probably. It's utterly cliche-ridden and filled with cartoon villains, but you can tell the whole cast are loving it. It should still be on BBC iPlayer I think.

Fab. Shall take a look.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Seska,

I watched "Luther" and I think it is pretty good until the last 2 or so episodes. It almost like the show went completely off the rails at a particular point and it never regained its footing. It was pretty decent until then.

The finale needed a Greek chorus.

I heard the ratings weren't great, so I don't think it will be back.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I hear the new BBC drama miniseries "Sherlock" is to be discussed here.

Andrea and I were quite amused.

I have yet to persuade The Girl, a Holmes fan of most traditional sensibilities, that she's going to enjoy it. Hoping Moffat wins her over soon, 'cause I want to see it.

I think the pleasure for an original Holmes fan would lie in knowing the stories and seeing how they've updated them. It's the sort of thing where I'm sure being a fan adds a whole other level.

Alternatively can't you just watch it by yourself...?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm pretty well up on the Holmes canon, and I thought it was great fun.
