If you ever get the chance, do yourself a favour, and check out
Men in Tutus.
Moonlit and me went to a cut-down performance (a small stage, so only 9 dancers) in Warrnambool but fuck it was hilarious. [link]
The founder and artistic director, Victor Trevino performed the Dying Swan and it was amazing; technically brilliant and extremely funny.
Fortunately, we snagged prime seats where we were far enough away to see the whole stage but also close enough to see the facial expressions of the performers.
It looks like they're in the grand tradition of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. That would definitely be wonderful!
Howdy all, as jimi said
Men in Tutus
was a very funny show.
And yeah Beverly, the choreographer was one of the founding members of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, so Men in Tutus is definitely in the same grand tradition.
ion from down under, it is now end of term 3 school holidays so two weeks off, woo hoo!!!
Oh my god, is the term over in the UK? That's depressing. I'm so glad I'm finally getting back now.
For the record, SA, it's actually just the start of term for most of us in the UK; my lectures will begin on Monday.
Edit: and now I've read Beep Me, I realise you almost certainly knew that. It is clearly past bedtime in the UK.
Heh. I am flying out tomorrow and I *can't* *wait.*
Best headline ever?
It's good but I don't know if its better than the acknowledged classic (from NY Post?):
Headless Body In Topless Bar
Or my personal local San Francisco Examiner classic:
Tsunami Corpse Lagoon
Headless Body in Topless Bar
...fair play, that IS good, and certainly it's better wordplay. But it doesn't have treasure-hunting Ninjas.
