how's it going? Are you enjoying school? I can't recall, are you at Nottingham, or am I misremembering?

Life is treating me quite well, really. I am enjoying almost all aspects of university life-- I am indeed at Nottingham. We must find a way to see each other while we're so comparatively close.

I'm now picturing ancient tales of the ant and the grasshopper being told around campfires from generation to generation.

Fine, mock my errors if you must. On this occassion, I will not go back and edit to make you look crazy because your post does that on its own. /teasing

... and then the grasshopper plunged his spear straight into the dragon's breast, and the fair ant maiden cried tears of joy...

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

I mock with much affection and silly grins.

I know, Karl. But I bet you wouldn't enjoy it as much if I didn't respond in kind.

It should be pretty easy! I'm trying to apply to Nottingham for an MA, so I might come down to check the place out. :)

If you do, let me know when and I'll try and give you the student tour. :)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Huh - a friend of mine who desperately wanted to be in the RAF, but wasn't able to join for medical reasons, assured me it referred to a wobbly loop-the-loop. But he may have been on crack.

(OMG the peaches and cherries are TEH YUM!!!1!).

Mmmmmm cherries! I've been eating fresh strawberries by the boat load of late, but then on Friday I bought some cherries and O. M. G. Yummy like an uberyummy thing. The only way they could be yummier is if they were dipped in molten darkish chocolate. And then I would just expire from joy.

It just got ridiculously cold here overnight. I could deal with 28-30 degrees farenheight. But this? This is in the flipping teens. Brrr.

Laugh it up in your tropical climes! I will shiver in my thin coat, like a poor child from the Victorian era. But with perhaps better hair.

How are you dear?

Pretty good, all in all. We're being Offsteded today and tomorrow (well, not actual Ofsted, but an international equivalent - checked out so we can be given Accreditation, whatever that means) which is a bit scary. And I missed lunch and had no appetite for breakfast, so I'm quite hungry now. Also frustrated, because after wolfing through the first two books of the Song of Ice and Fire they don't seem to have the third or fourth available for love or money. Damn it. So I've started reading The Dragonbone Chair, as I've never got around to it. Quite enjoying it, but I wanted to read more George RR Martin, damn it, and this isn't quite scratching that itch.

Um. Possibly a fuller answer than you planned on?

Meanwhile, though, I'm gleefully wallowing in the newfound joy of last.fm, which provides me with a whole 'radio station' of similar folks in response to being told who my favourite musician is. Which is really quite fabulous.
