Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Oh, thanks everybody! So nice to see the good wishes here, although I'm not around too frequently.

It's been a good day actually. Just got back from a slap-up Italian meal with my sweetie. Our children did their best to be cute and not too whiny and it was the most beautiful autumn day. So - no complaints!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy birthday, Fi!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Happy Birthday, Fiona. Sounds like it was lovely!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

So, 'ffistas, any advice on Manchester? I think that's where I'm going to move to in the UK.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The only thing I know about Manchester is that Life on Mars is set there. And Cracker.

I live to be helpful.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

There's a girl at the Virgin Megastore who's nice.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I hear they have a football team.

Ann, that's a ferret.

At least two, Nutty. One of whom (Manchester City) is worth a cheer or two.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

No advice, really, but I like Manchester. I think it's a city that's working hard to get better, and succeeding-- with the new shopping centre etc. It also has a great youth hostel.
