Any Aussies (lurking or otherwise) who haven't bought the Firefly boxset, get your cheque-book, or credit card ready; I've seen it will be selling for between $25 and $30 in a couple of weeks.
Also, for those of us who don't have pay-tv but have heard interesting things about both
Deadwood
and
Dead Like Me,
the first season of each come out on DVD next month.
A little bit early, but between time zone differences and me usually not being around on Saturdays (Eastern U.S. time):
Happy Early Birthday, Min!
Happy birthday, Min!
I miss you terribly. I hope you're well and your birthday is bountiful.
jimi of evil: can you tell me what shops will be selling Firefly at that price? I've passed the word onto an oz friend who is now curious.
(Can you say half a shiny toaster shall be yours? I knew you could.)

However, I'm thinking pretty much any shop that would stock it will have it at that price. It appears to be a price reduction from Fox themselves, so tell your friend to check out Target, or BigW, or K-Mart, or JB Hi-Fi, etc., as well.
eta: I was also wildly wrong about the date. It appears to be available at the reduced price now.
Many thanks, jimi. I've passed that along.
Crossposted from literary: has anyone encountered the term "Sheilaism" and is willing to define it? I vaguely know that "Sheila" is or was a term Australians use for women ...

This Life
Christmas special! Maybe. I'm still ridiculously excited at the possibility.

VERY exciting. Surely, surely Miles/Anna? Surely? And what's going on with Egg by this point? I bet Milly's got kids.
Gosh, I hope they do it.
I'm hoping Anna's a partner at the firm and Miles is stuck in a loveless marriage with a brood of wailing brats. And that they bring Warren back. And we know that Egg changed his name to Simon and became an English teacher, so that just leaves Milly, really. Still slapping Rachel, maybe.
