I'm thinking about buying something very expensive. Maybe an antelope.

What is with Berlin lately? Nearly everyone I know has been there in the last few months, or is planning a trip. I'm feeling seriously unfashionable.

Berlin has been fantastic recently, there's a real buzz. All the post-unification projects are coming to fruition, so there's tons of new stuff to see and do, plus the districts are coalescing anew, that sort of thing. We had a blast the last couple of times we were there. Get out there if you can, Jars!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I agree!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Every day that I don't start bleeding is a good day. Not doing anything in the home is surprisingly tough, though.

Fiona, I had SUCH a strong urge to rearrange all the furniture (which wasn't totally random, as it's something we had to do to make room for Lily) when I was on bedrest. For some reason, not being able to do that was the worst part of it. I felt so useless and helpless. And I well recall the No Blood = Good Day feeling. (Which, by the end, had morphed into the, "No Pre-E Yet = Good Day.) Also, I got exceedingly stir-crazy and sick of every book I owned.

Hang in there. It's boring and rough, and I can't imagine how hard it would be with a kidlet in the house.

Thanks, Plei. We're doing OK, and I'm actually keeping quite busy, somehow. Also, we've got a routine going with the home help and everything, which is making stuff go a lot more smoothly.

OB/GYN appointment tomorrow morning, where hopefully we'll find out what the ol' placenta is doing.

You know, I'd say I'm wishing you placenta-ma, but it just sounds silly, so here's to a good OB appointment instead.

Quick update on my situation: after a week of battles with my OB, who for inexplicable reasons refused to do an ultrasound but wanted to send me back to work anyway, I went back to the hospital for a check-up yesterday. The good news: the baby and I are both still fine, and it looks as if the placenta might be moving upwards, slowly but surely. The bad news: right now I still have Placenta Praevia Totalis, so I'm still at risk of bleeding and all that stuff.

However, I'm now confirmed off work sick for the duration, the home help will continue at least for a couple more weeks, and - fingers crossed - if I stay stable and things continue to move in the right direction, the baby can cook for a little bit longer and we can maybe try to avoid a c-section.

Thanks for all the support and ~ma!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Stay in the oven, baby!
