Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Conga rats, Fiona!

So, I missed most of the Battlestar Galactica mini-series but I watched the first episode of the new tv series. I know Zoic are involved in the special effects but did anyone else notice how much the SFX resembles Firefly? Even a lot of the non-SFX seemed inspired by what Joss and Tim did; fast zooms, hand-held cameras, grittier film-stock (or post-processing) amongst other things. I was actually quite impressed by what I watched.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Jimi, Serenity actually makes a cameo in the miniseries.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

The music reminds me of Firefly, too. I agree, Jimi, that Firefly influenced a lot of choices in the filming of BSG. Except, of course, for "no sound in space", that's just asking too much of a viewing audience, apparently.

Cool, that's enough to make me at least hire the DVDs :)

I must admit, I didn't take too much notice of the music but will do so during the next episode.

yeah and it's a real shame. I thought the shot from "Bushwacked" of the settler ship being destroyed, was far more powerful without the typical explosion noises.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Runs through, strewing daffodils and leeks.

Happy St. David's Day!

CaBil, it's on BBC2 intermittantly and I'm sure I could tape an ep or two for you. But - do you have a PAL-compatible VHS and TV?

Unfortunately no. Any way you can burn it on a disk?

Nope, sorry. I'm not set up for that sort of thing, just for good ol' VHS.
