This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Bootleg.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Interesting article. The only thing he mentions that I noticed was poor subtitle synchronization on one of the films (I've watched about half of them). The video quality has seemed fine to me otherwise. As for the poor translations and misspellings -- who among us has not seen a poorly translated Japanese film in the theaters?

To every idea a shelf...

That is a thing of beauty. I don't really have a problem with bootleg, but our DVD player is pretty temperamental and I wouldn't trust it to work, even though it says its regionless. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll write it down for future reference.

Yay! Sky One is finally showing The Peacekeeper Wars on Sunday!

For which I have managed to stay largerly unspoiled, miraculously.

I just saw that advert!

I'm wondering whether it's a good place for a person who's only heard of Farscape in the 'it's a thing other people talk about' sort of way to start watching it. The advert seems quite start-at-the-beginning-y, but I'm not sure if that's true of the mini-series itself.

Yeah, I never seriously watched Farscape either. When I did, I enjoyed it though. And SCI-FI were showing it everyday sometime last year, and I caught a lot of those repeats, including the last episode. So I'm excited, but also expecting a certain level of confusion. Farscape seems to delight in confusing me. And possibly you.

I'm sure someone, somewhere has written a recap of the series for novices. Anyone? Bueller?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

While wonderful (in fact, I was psyched to see my copy of the DVD is on it's way), THE PEACEKEEPER WARS is very much not the way to start. So much of it is predicated on what went on in the four season before that it won't make any sense.

I think other 'Scapers would agree, but you might try posing the question in the "Box Set" thread (which is currently all about Startgate, but breaks out into Farscape conversation on occasion still). Best place to start the show is, well, first season, though it's a bit hit or miss until a bit after halfway through the season.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Our very own Consuela wrote one here, actually. Well, an introduction, anyway.

I hugely enjoyed both those primers Katie.

Vomit, indeed.

Hum. Start with the first of four, you say? You're probably right. (I won't be in Boxed Set for a while, because I'm trying to go unspoiled for Stargate while I use SkyOne's repeats to catch up. And I've saved my pennies for West Wing DVDs, to catch up with that. It... may be a while before I get to do Farscape the way it should be done. Unless SkyOne or SciFi is unexpectedly kind to me.)

'Suela's primer makes it sound good, though (despite the bodily fluids thing) and with good web resources I might manage to make half-sense of it. Hum. *considers*
