It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

To every idea a shelf...

Not looking forward to the switch-over to the Aussie version, though--don't think they'll be able to pull off the same sort of dynamic twice, but one can dream, I suppose.

Yeah, it could be lame. Although, I can totally see Mark "Bob Downe" Trevorrow doing a great job on it.

What everyone has been saying about it is true--they took notice of what the guy wanted, worked around his existing likes and needs etc

I loved that. He looked so great, and they were changes he could maintain without significantly changing his entire lifestyle. Most makeovers -- on Oprah or whatever -- make the subject look so uncomfortable, and you just know they won't sustain the new look.

How far ahead is America in Queer Eye eps? Going by TWOP forums, you're up to about episode 11 or 12 of Season 1 -- is that right?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Are we up to 12 already? It started around the beginning or middle of August, and we've usually been getting one new episode each week. There may have been a few weeks with two new episodes -- they're rerun so often, I can't always keep track of what's new.

Hmm, I think Mark Trevorrow would be a bit too bitchy, which you don't really want. I can't really see this working in Australia, although I do have some friends who would be great in it!

t edit Also, I don't think you want people who are already celebrities...although I'll bet Johnnie of Big Brother 1 and Jamie off Big Brother 3 have both been calling their agents non-stop about it! Johnnie would be good except I'm not sure what role he'd do...grooming perhaps? Jamie would be awful, he's got the most shocking taste in clothes I've ever seen!

Art Crawl!!!

Why are we talking QE in Unamericans? Is it playing someplace outside of North American now?

Yes, it's just started in Australia.

Incidentally, Americans may be interested to know that it's been given a massive promotional push, including those little ads that pop up on the bottom of the screen (it was cool seeing them during the football finals!), and it's playing at the heart of prime-time, 8.30 Monday nights with "Australian Idol" as the lead-in.

Art Crawl!!!

Wow. So, in Australia it's on one of the main stations, rather than on a cable station that has a limited audience?

Yes!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One episode ran edited on NBC here, but the main run is tucked in the back of cable-land. Where it's been hot as hell, but still.

I can't even.

The American QE starts on our version of Bravo (somewhat obscure cable channel) tomorrow here in Canada. We haven't had it at all until now. It will be airing at 11:45pm, which is right after Sex and The City.
