A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

But isn't everyone glad I brought it up? What else would you all be talking about? WaterAid? Pfffhhht!

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

This could have been the de facto Cindy thread if not for all this Seinfeld talk!

To every idea a shelf...

Oh, also, a while back someone posted a link to an online site that will be selling Buffy and Angel DVDS for $34.95 each. I wasn't able to order off it because of some cookie problem. Anyway, according to Buffy Downunder, most retailors should be slashing their prices.

"CRAZY DVD Prices - $34.95! Just a quick note: It seems that 20th Century Fox are going to be fairly nice to us...

From the 22 Octoberish - ALL Buffy seasons - Most retailers - that's right, season 6 aswell - will be slashed in price, you'll find people doing prices from around $34.95, but don't be surprised if people go lower than that!

So, if you've got that one or two boxsets missing, or even if you've never bought a single one, just think, ALL of the Buffy episodes from season 1 to 6 for around $385. You'd be hard pressed to get 3 seasons for that much usually!"

I'm really happy about this. I need Angel Season 3, but I wasn't willing to pay full price for it - it's basically a completist buy rather than a desire buy.

That's great news. I've actually only got Season 1--my fandom has been severely tested by the $90-odd price tag for a box of 3.

Oh, and Rebekah was robbed!

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Emlah ... that was me and yeah, I had planned to mention that EzyDVD are also advertising the full seasons for under 80 bucks, so it's not something specific to AtlanticDVD (though they do seem to still be the cheapest by a couple of dollars).

Oh and Australian Idol. NO. NO. DEAR FUCKING GOD IN HADES! NO!!!!!!!!

ahem

Edited to add:

I'm really happy about this. I need Angel Season 3, but I wasn't willing to pay full price for it - it's basically a completist buy rather than a desire buy.

I need to get most of Angel myself but I'm not really sure if I'll bother -- beyond getting Season 1 Pt 2. Season 4 is the only one I really want to own.

Season 4 is the only one I really want to own.

I'm trying to compile a list of the things I wouldn't do in order to instantly receive S4 DVDs and I'm drawing a complete blank. If it weren't for some of Cordy's cringe-making scenes, I would have loved every single minute of this season.

NO. NO. DEAR FUCKING GOD IN HADES! NO!!!!!!!!

Heh. I have a horrible, horrible theory about the demographics of the majority of voters and I'm ashamed of it really because it manages to be both elitist and sexist all in one, but each show annoucing who's made it to the next round just re-enforces it.

I think the statistics speak for themselves on that one Leigh. Although in a shocking development, one cute boy was actually not voted through last night.

(Mind you, I don't exactly think people are wrong to vote for cute boys. But I was pretty upset that Rebekah didn't get through, because her performance was one of the very few so far I've really enjoyed.)

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Greg Dyke, director general of the BBC, has announced plans to give the public full access to all the corporation's programme archives.

Mr Dyke said on Sunday that everyone would in future be able to download BBC radio and TV programmes from the internet.
