'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything.

Heh, thanks for the clarification Fred! (But we all know who Steinbrenner is thanks to Seinfeld.)

Ann, that's a ferret.

Sorry for going overboard, Angus. I didn't know how much the rest of the world knows about American baseball.

BTW, following up on a conversation we had some time back -- Junior Senior is starting to get attention here. Would be nice to see some fun come back to pop music here.

If I only had a brain...

Aside from the fact that the most powerful industrial nation in the history of civilisation forgot to feed the meter yesterday...

Do you have any IDEA how hard it is to find shillings over here?

'And on that tragic day, an era came to its inevitable end.' That's all there is.

Who is Seinfeld?

Religion isn't the cause of wars. It's the excuse. - Christopher Brookmyre

Anya was paired with Andrew. It would have made more sense, to me, if Wood and Giles had been split up and paired with weaker fighters. Bad strategising, if you ask me.

IIRC, there was some kind of statement that Anya and Andrew were set to guard a place which they didn't expect trouble at. But I've only seen the finale once. Does anyone have a wank for why Willow couldn't just cast the spell before they went into the pit?

Hi, I'm Helen, I'm a kiwi. I've posted a couple of times on the other boards, but this is my first time on this board. Hi guys!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hmmm... helen, how about, because they had descended into a "hell" where the physics, et cetera, were different, Willow could take into account altered principles of magic to recast the Original Slayer spell (now with increased Slayerosity(tm))...?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Does anyone have a wank for why Willow couldn't just cast the spell before they went into the pit?

Less dramatic?

IIRC, there was some kind of statement that Anya and Andrew were set to guard a place which they didn't expect trouble at.

They put the two most experienced (and least damaged) fighters (Giles and Wood) at what they considered the most crucial and vulnerable spot.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Does anyone have a wank for why Willow couldn't just cast the spell before they went into the pit?

The first UV knew to go for Buffy, and various stripes of demons have been shown to recognize or detect her presence. I'd say they wanted to make sure they were in place to block the UV's from getting loose on the town before they did anything to rouse them.
