JohnSweden, thanks muchly. The fellow feeling is warmly appreciated.
This may be a little corrupt, but my 4 and a half year old son is addicted to Buffy (though there are some episodes I won't let him watch). When I told him this morning I was sad about Buffy, he told me that what I needed to do was watch more Buffy videos and DDs (as he calls them). He has also just learnt how to use the stapler and is making me a ``Buffy magazine''. Sweet child.
Me!!! (More specifically, it was my first uttering when the casting news came out for the final arcs of both shows this season. One of my very, very rare half-clever statements.)
Great line. Is there anything funner than riffing on pop culture quotes? Because if there is I haven't found it yet.

Can you clone him and send one to me? Because that is too damn cute.
ETA: Huh. I guess my new thing is asking questions spread over two sentences.
I just wish being a Buffy fan was as simple for me as it is for him. For me it involves yearning, confusion, irritation, gratitude, guilt. God, being a grown-up is hard work.
Breaking the silence again...
I know none of you Australians are interested in sport at all, but are we taking punts on how much we'll trounce you by tonight in the Bledisloe Cup?
Just read an interview with James Marsters in the new BtVS magazine (the one that comes out of Britain) in which he said he hated doing the attempted rape scene, in fact he didn't want to do it, and was so stressed out doing it that he made SMG uptight as well. Then he as a character reacted to her more strongly because of her being uptight and the whole thing fed on itself so the scene ended up being much more aggressive than it was supposed to be, and than it was written. However he said it did end up being on screen in that more aggressive way and that was that and they just had to deal with the consequences.... Interesting.
Also, a friend in Melbourne, who knows nothing of Buffy except for my insane ramblings at her, says the whole finale thing is big over there and there's a fancy-dress ball being organised by one of the universities. Any of you lot going? She said she might go along and pick up some handsome Spike-like young man there. In fact she might kidnap one to take along with her.
This is interesting to me for two reasons: firstly I linked her a photo of James Marsters who she said was far too scrawny for her tastes. So how come she's changed her mind? And secondly, how come she knows, without me telling her, just the kind of courtship style Spike might be into (ie the kidnapping)? Velly weird.

Er, quite a lot as it turns out.
(Stupid game anyway, rugby.)
I can never keep Union and League trophies and tournaments straight (though I know the difference between the two codes) but didn't Oz just beat NZ 48 to 6?
Haven't seen the results but that sounds like it would be the league test.
I'm making some wine from Bravery, and one of the recipes calls for "kibbled maize". Am I right in thinking that an American would call this "cracked corn"? (Where "corn" means "field corn", not any other grain.)
Hey, has the Angel S4 finale been shown everywhere in Australia yet?
