Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Oh, and whatshisface--the guy who played Robert the Bruce in Braveheart, assuming he's got that soulful-eyed hottie thing going on all the time.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Dear lord above, I forgot Liam Neeson.

I should be flogged. Liam, oh my.

Milkbar? It makes sense in a "no alcohol served" way, but it sounds very amusing, somehow too. :) Like someone's gonna slide a glass of milk down a long bar at you...many flavors of milk on tap...

but yes, the pie-flavoured chips do exist

But what FLAVOR of pie?? Are we talking meat pie flavored chips? Or some sort of fruit pie? (And how would it then be PIE flavored, as opposed to meat or fruit flavored??? I don't get it!)

Roguish Laird

It would be meat pie, meara, because that's the default meaning of "pie" in Australia. (Specifically, ground meat of uncertain provenance smothered in thick gravy, enclosed in pastry, and eaten with tomato sauce--sorry, ketchup. Revolting, but a national tradition.)

Huh, I can see the amusement of "milk bar", but what about "drugstore" as a place with a soda fountain etc.? This is endlessly amusing to Unamericans.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Actually, that's not fair - the nadir of '80s naffness was the Gold Blend ads, and I guess ASH has managed to get away from that stigma. havers is still unwatchable, though. He's so smug. and he ruined the Gorse trilogy.

And now he gets to be nekkid on a throughly horrible show that I find myself unable to stop watching for whatever reason.

But he's still pretty.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Damn. Billy Boyd. And the ratface hottie contingent -- Tim Roth, Alan Cumming, Robert Carlyle.

Well, I've been in many a drugstore and never seen a soda fountain. They always have drugs, though.

Yeah, I kinda figured from earlier conversations here that pie meant meat pie. Which makes all the "mmmm, pie!" things weird to me (cause "Mmmm, Cherry Pie!" makes sense, but "mmmmm, mystery meat and gravy!" does not).

what about "drugstore" as a place with a soda fountain etc.

Well, we don't really HAVE those anymore (or for the past 20 years at least) and now the "Drugstore" is just where you go to get...drugs...or makeup, or shampoo or something. (Which is to say, for those young'uns of us, it seems weird too)
