You know what I miss? Jaffa Cakes. And Lion Bars and Time Outs.

I never really got into the Jaffa Cakes gestalt, because of the texture of the cookies as they hit that orange filling. But McVits choc digestives?
Squeeeeeee-yum.
Oh, and those little salt and vinegar bags of crisps.
those little salt and vinegar bags of crisps.
Mmmm. Best crisps ever. Must go shopping at the Brit store in Santa Monica this weekend.
Smoky bacon is the one true crisp.
Jumping back to the Millman comments for a moment, she gave me something to show friends and say, "See there's more to Buffy than vampire slaying". My brother and I watched Buffy from the start though, just hoping it would be good. There's something about vampire shows, we loved The Lost Boys and the Kindred series had potential. Ultraviolet from the UK had a unique medical perspective on the vamp phenomenon.
I always wondered if anyone here was into those as well?
I can probably find them here, but I haven't looked; there's a wonderful international deli or three in the area, (Haig's in particular, with their halvah and homemade hummus and all the Cadbury stuff as well), and surely one of them must have those crisps.
They really are the best crisps ever.
plasmo, "Lost Boys" is one of my alltime faves. Filmed and set just down the coast from us (Santa Carla was actually Santa Cruz).
"Holy Shit! It's the Attack of Eddie Munster!"
What's not to love? Not to mention Jason Patric and Diane Wiest and....
Haig's in particular, with their halvah and homemade hummus
Now see, for me, Haig's is the One.True.Chocolate.
All other chocolates bow down before it!
plasmo ... Kindred: Embraced receives a bad rap from a lot of quarters but I enjoyed it. Did you know the series was cancelled b/c the star, Mark Frankel, was killed in a motorbike accident?
Ultraviolet was another interesting vampire story, that deserved to get more than its 6 episodes.
Did you also know both shows are available on DVD?
Wow, who knew I was so noisy.
Julie, I think Deborah's referring to a different Haig's. (Since ours is actually Haigh's and doesn't have hummus.) On second thoughts it looks like you already knew that and were just picking up on the name similarity, so pardon my schoolmistressy ways.
Wow, I'm the postiest Unamerican! Well, except that Z** F**** and Z** A** are the same poster. Put it this way, I'm the postiest Unamerican who's not currently banned!
