Imagining cured pork cut into a slice the shape of a pointy oblong, surrounded by chips and peas. Are the peas mushy (shudder)?
Hee. And to think I almost edited.
I can't stand mushy peas I like them bursty.

I'd been warned The Office was painful to watch but ... goddamn! Fuck I laughed though...while squirming in my seat. Most of the work I've done has been on the factory floor, or in the warehouse but I still knew these people. They're everywhere. Except maybe in the US. Not sure how it will translate to US audiences.
On to Buffy.
Hands up who thinks we will see Nancy again. Despite her abrupt departure, I suspect she's going to be a new love interest for Xander.
For some reason the past discussions about these eps surmised CoW pokes were the ones doing the killing of the girls. Not sure how that perception came about b/c it never even crossed my mind that they were involved. Clearly they're in robes, so clearly they're worshippers of something. My first thought was that they're the followers of the Big Bad we keep hearing about.
I really like how this season has started. I was kinda fearful, since I knew Joss must've had minimal time to devote to Buffy b/c of Firefly but those fears have been swept away by two strong opening episodes.

The screenplay says "ninja monks". I don't think they're CoW (but I may yet be proved wrong).

bwah!
I have no idea what they are. Don't think they're affiliated with the CoW, but I do think it's possible the girls are proto-Slayers, and the German girl in this ep only acted as a mouthpiece for whatever it is because she was in Buffy's dream, if that makes sense. I'm not yet convinced that the girls have a connection to the big evil devouring things beneath the surface, but that may just be because I really like the idea of them being uncalled Slayers.
I'm wondering about uncalled Slayers, but then I keep wondering if that's actually a possiblity or if it's that the Spike and Dru book, memfaulting on the title, has invaded my brain.
Did anyone else notice the ninja monk's knife? Is it just me, or did it bear a remarkable resemblance to the knife the Mayor gave Faith? That has got to mean something.
jimi, I just figured they went to the same Klingon market to buy their knives....
Theodosia ... could turn out to be nothing more than that but the way they seemed to emphasise the knife suggest there's more to it. We shall have to wait and see, I guess.
Shit. IMDb.com have become Evil. I was catching up on the past "gossip" and ran across a honking great casting spoiler. Avoid Feb 14.
Anyway, do modern unAmericans use "gammon" all the time?
Yes. Or at least, no, because I don't eat much meat, but gammon-and-pineapple was popular enough when I was wee, and I think it's still around today. We tend to only use the word bacon to mean bacon rashers, I think. But I'm not big with the meat eating, so I may be talking pants.
Still haven't watched The Office. The clips and trailers I've seen do look very, very good, but I physically can't make myself watch it because of the watch-from-the-hall thing. I've worked in places just like that.
Damn, that show sounds wonderful. I wish I had BBC America.
Says the girl who watched all four episodes of Contest Searchlight last night. I think there still might be people who don't know it was a complete and total parody.
