I'm OK with whitefonted discussion here.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

I second Angus' "OK". It will be at least another month -- but probably closer to a couple -- before Australia starts getting Buffy season 7. Any discussion of previous seasons is welcomed, though. :)

Speaking of which, the Jossentaries for "Hush" and "Restless" are both fascinating listens. Not as funny as "Innocence" but equally entertaining and informative.

Doug Petrie and Jane Espenson seem to have taken note of the quality/substance of Joss' commentaries and hence their commentaries for "This Year's Girl" and "Superstar" respectively, are well worth a listen.

Nice work taunting the DVD-deprived Americans, jimi!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's a big "what does a soul mean?" debate happening in the Buffy thread right now.

I suspect watching Buffy and Angel on the American schedule, having a region-free DVD and using BitTorrent to grab Farscape eps ahead of time should be a big "Evil now!" marker, shouldn't it?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Not if you're generous with the sharing of the Farscape tapes. IJS.

Oh my, how insensitive of me. Call me "Oz" and send in the Mistress of Pain to spank me.

If I only had a brain...

I need some vocabulary. What's the technical term to describe intense same-sex emotional relationships that are not explicitly physical? Doesn't "homoerotic" contain some idea that the people involved are physically intimate, or at least thinking about it?

I'm thinking of the classical Victorian relationships that, as far as we know, stayed subliminal. Housman. Rhodes. That sort of thing. People all of whose emotionally passionate relationships were with the same sex, but who thought of themselves merely as confirmed old bachelors/spinsters.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

homoaffectionality is the term.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Homoaffectionate?

x-post, of course
