Whether Joss cited Dark City as an influence or not, it played its part. As did every other movie, or tv show, that had some villainous, shaved-headed dude dressed in black. There is something inherently dangerous/malevolent about that look.

Fiona, a late congratulations on the house! Also to Mr. Fiona and Benno.
John, what lovely pictures! I love it that you added some real explanations inside, too. I especially liked the one underneath you wrote "my wife" (not "Thuy" or anything else explanatory). You both look so happy, and Thuy is gorgeous. I'm very happy for both of you. And good luck with the house.
Thanks Nilly.
I have to say, when one hears about weddings, it's normally in the My Wedding Nighmare genre or the My Wedding Disaster genre, or, on the Ricki Lake show we watched the day before, the I Haven't Spoken To My [Sister | Mother | Best Friend | Etc] Since The Day They Ruined My Wedding! genre, so our wedding seems almost "nothing to report" in comparison, but that's a good thing, right?

The best weddings should go off with at least one hitch.
Ba dum.
If you want out-takes and bloopers, there was a bit of comedy with the rings, because Kat gave me "my" ring, (the huge one the size of a tap-washer),but of course the one I was supposed to get was Thuy's little tiny one and vide versa, so we could put them on each other's fingers.
Plus in the ceremony, the celebrant said "Do you John take Thuy to be your wife..." and I just said "I do!" she fixed me with a stern look and continued "... to have and to hold..." and so on for another minute or so, then gave me the "now you say it, bozo" look.
John - Thank you for sharing your wedding pictures. You two look so very already married! Just beautiful, I got all choked up like I was in attendance. Brendon and I will be married 13 years this March and I highly recommend the whole married thing. I wish you both a lifetime of joy.
billytea - Hearty congrats to your dad! Well done.
Posting to the unamericans here because Natter is too fast and scary for me these days. I can only catch the recent once every couple days. Expressing my gratitude again for the Beep me and Press threads.
Hey, question for the Australians: anyone here seen the show Kath and Kim? A friend sent us the videos for Christmas and we're trying to decide what to make of it.
Yes Billytea, I saw a little of it. Not to my taste, but I know some people who find it hilarious.
A friend worked on the site, Kath & Kim.

I'm just starting to lean that way after seeing the wedding statue of Little Baby Cheeses. It reminds me of The Castle. (And Tony Martin has a bit part in both, apparently.)
Homesickness may have something to do with this. I'm pretty sure very few Americans would find it funny, though.
I didn't see all of Kath & Kim but what I did see made me laugh more often than not and I'm not much of a fan of Jane "Kath" Turner. Glenn Robbins as "Kel" was wonderful, as usual. No surprise that this is an ABC production.

Yeah, it is very Australian. Of course, those that liked The Castle may find this funny as well.

umm, you might want to tell your friend that it's "sows' ears" not "sours ears" :)
