Swouncing

::blush:: Thanks, you guys. It's really good for my English-ego to read that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There's a great Woody Allen short story which ends with the hero trapped in a Spanish dictionary, being chased by a hairy, many-legged intransitive verb. (He thought he was jumping into Madame Bovary; he'd been having an affair with Emma).

tener I think. Love that story.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Congrats to Fiona & Mr. Fiona & Benno, who now are homeowners! (See Beep Me for details!)

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Yay Fiona! The house sounds lovely. I'm all for semi-fixer-uppers.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Primarily an Unamerican thing- although I'm now wondering if this should be in Previously. Oh, what the hell, here will do.

I just saw 'Once More With Feeling' (BBC cut). I haven't seen it before, and I'm tending toward thinking that it's the best 'funny' ep. since Superstar. Yes?

Define "funny"?

Define "funny"?

In this context, used to mean funny as opposed to heartrendingly sad ('The Gift' is sad; 'Superstar' could be argued as sad but is more likely to leave us laughing than crying). So, basically, I'm laughing not crying (mostly).

Well I think OMWF is one of the saddest episodes of all, at the end.

But I know what you mean. And there are three "funny" episodes, in the sense of "funny peculiar", aren't there? Hush, Superstar and OMWF.
