Giles: I jump out of the circle, jump back in, and, and, shake my gourd. Buffy: Hey, I think I know this ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the Hokey-Pokey and to turn themselves around.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

A couple of days will be fine, Lyra. And I also see a possible outcome, in which everyone wins and everyone loses, but I bet you've seen that one yourself, first thing.

Hmmm. Could you expand? The idea that I have along those lines would be that everyone keeps their promises, and, after the destruction of Sunnydale, Xander and Dawn go off together, leaving Willow to swallow her guilt. But I suspect you might have something more interesting than that in mind.

(My muse seems to be going for the Everybody Good Gets Killed ending, despite my fear of writing it. )

Well, I'm assuming in this version of Jossverse, we still have Spike being Spike?

I was thinking along the lines of Spike realising what's going on, letting Buffy know, and Buffy finding a way to use Xander and Dawn without their knowledge. Then the destruction of Sunnydale could proceed along whatever path you like, with Xander-Dawn realising they've been used and set up and maybe getting out just in time?

Because I love the idea of ruthless!Buffy, but I also like the idea of vamped Dawnie sulking in Europe with Xander: "She set me up! My OWN SISTER! Sob! GETOUTGETOUTGETOUT!"

Ooh, Spike. Good thought. He was initially supposed to have been Xander's sire, but the timelines didn't work out and I kinda forgot about him.

I'll try on a few different possibilities and see what ending works for me. Thank you for the suggestion.

Damn, I lurve that tag.

erika, someone has to gather your HLOTS Band Candy crossover and put it together as a doc for shrift.

My week, alas, is insane: Joanna arrives from NYC on Wednesday, new neuro Tuesday, Thanksgiving for 14 on Thursday. I'm totally willing, but if it's me, it won't happen for a bit; time, she has me by the short and curlies.
