You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

In D&D, who would win in a fight between a Level One Wizard and a house cat?

Usually the house cat wins.

[link]

Dunno about the actual odds, but A cat has 2 hit points, and 3 attacks per round for a full attack action, at +4/+4/-1 for 1 damage each. If our 1st level Wizard loses initiative (very possible against a 15 Dex cat), and misses with his first attack (possible with 0 BAB against an AC14 cat), he will be attacked six times, four of which will hit 70% of the time.

On average, he’ll be hit by three of the claws and one bite for 4 damage, which takes him to 0 HP. If the wizard is unarmed, and taking a -4 nonproficiency penalty to punch the cat, then he will almost certainly die.

This is probably why casters are famous for being cat-friendly.

Then someone ran a computer simulation....

information libertarian

From Molly Ivin's NYT obit:

"She cut an unusual figure in The Times newsroom, wearing blue jeans, going barefoot and bringing in her dog, whose name was an expletive."

Which one? "This is my poodle, Cocksucker." "This is my husky, Motherfucker." "This is my German Shepard, Fuckyou."

You know, when Bones started tonight I had this wild thought... Is Epps going to get Cam? She had the sweet Tim-esque kiss with Booth, and now, lo and behold, it might actually be happening. However, this isn't a Tim show, so I suspect she'll pull through .

You know, when Bones started tonight

I wouldnt know, dammit!! Sometime in the middle of the night, the power went out/came back on. I woke up when my printer turned on, said whatever, turned over. I have now discovered that it means that the digital cable box turns off. So, I come home to find 48 minutes of black screen instead of Bones. ARGH.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Aw, Molly Ivins. She'd been sick for a while, but she was a fucking firecracker up to the end. I once drank from a whiskey bottle at a party after her and another time told her that she was my fucking hero, to which she said only, "Aim higher." She told a story at another party about lefty ACLU members in the early 70s torn between their belief that the KKK had a right to march on the Capital and their belief that the KKK was, well, the KKK. So they officially supported the KKK's petition to the city of Austin and lined Congress Avenue to await the Klan. When the boys in white showed up, according to Molly, all the people on both sides of Congress turned around and mooned them, all 12 blocks up to the Capital steps. God bless 'em, and god bless her for trying to keep these fucking crazy-ass Texans straight for all these years.
