Allyson, as soon as you can, you MUST introduce your nephew to the Flanimals. I just had a hilarious conversation with mine about them. I swear, he's memorized 2 books and can give it all to you in detail. I should be offended, but I'm a Squat.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Dude. You guys have it all wrong (I think) Zenkitty doesn't want to cook.

Zenkitty: I would love to cook for you. Where do you live?

EAT: Ohhhhhwwwww I want to go to Naanfest with the Chicagoistas. Damn you 2007! Where's my &%#^ing teleporter?!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

msbelle, you sound like a harried mom.

From over here, it's kinda cute.

I'm fucking stuffed. And, if you might excuse me, too fat. No, fat's not the word, although I have more body fat than I usually carry. I'm outgrowing too fucking much of my clothes. I'm sorely pissed, prompted by me struggling to button up my leather coat this evening. That's two leather jackets I can't close.

I can't afford new stuff. I can't decide if I should make my diet more lean, or what.

I'm certainly not stopping kettlebell.

Resolved my cereal issue. Bought $61 worth. That should get me through a month or two.

Winds around here--I passed a felled tree a couple of times before I realised there was a car underneath it. I hope there wasn't much damage done.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Winds around here--I passed a felled tree a couple of times before I realised there was a car underneath it. I hope there wasn't much damage done.

OUCH! Poor car.

The winds made it very hard for Franny to fall asleep. She kept trying to reassure me, even though she was the one who needed reassurance, not me.

Because it deserves its own post:

Further adventures in gimlet exploration...

Requested: Gin gimlet

Received: Gin on the rocks with freshly squeezed lime juice and a dash of Rose's syrup

Conclusion: I prefer the vodka gimlet, and I certainly prefer the gimlet straight up. Fresh lime juice continues to add pep to the drink's step.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Fresh lime juice continues to add pep to the drink's step.

But is it still a gimlet? Yes, the Rose's syrup is present, but you've now added an ingredient.

(How much do I love that the vodka gimlet deserves its own post? THIIIIIIIIISMUUUUUUCH.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

If I was tending bar and you asked for a gimlet I'd give you 1 1/2 oz of Gin on the rocks with 1 oz of Roses lime juice and a fresh lime wedge (unsqueezed.)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I certainly prefer the gimlet straight up.

What's this mean?

Without ice.

eta: For the record, that was the BJ's Brewhouse (on Canoga) gimlet. Still the winner is Arsenal's (on Pico) Grey Goose straight up.
