If I was tending bar and you asked for a gimlet I'd give you 1 1/2 oz of Gin on the rocks with 1 oz of Roses lime juice and a fresh lime wedge (unsqueezed.)

eta: For the record, that was the BJ's Brewhouse (on Canoga) gimlet. Still the winner is Arsenal's (on Pico) Grey Goose straight up.

This one was way cheap, too. I didn't catch its price, but the drink tab was $6.45 for the gimlet and a Heffenwieser (indubitably mispelt).

Then it's not a gimlet. It's a vodka lime. I've had arguments with customers over this. Don't ask for a vodka gimlet and then get pissed that it's sweet. That's the freakin' drink buddy.
