Netscape and Mozilla and Firefox use a generically named "bookmarks.htm" file. Do a search on your drive for any you can find.
You are more likely to find any of the above under some "mozilla" folder on your HDD, perhaps under \documents and settings\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla on windows XP, or other places.
Still? Searching for bookmark.htm or html seems your best bet.
Remember to search for hidden folders and files.

Thanks Daniel. That found me some files, but yet, not ones that make sense with the amnesia of this morning. Alas.
Also, it's pretty unlikely that in my half-assed backups that I saved these hidden files.

Hey Eddie, and those that were helping with ubuntu--that link you sent me totally looked like it was the problem, but I couldn't get the fix to work. Oh well. I've finally been able to back up all my files and music, so I'm getting ready to wipe the drive clean and start off fresh with kubuntu. This time, no transparency stuff.

It's okay, I found a workable solution. YamiPod lets me copy music on and off the ipod, and is portable with the ipod. No installation required. A little buggy, but infinitely useable.

It's pretty cool for a prepaid cell service. It flips open to expose a qwerty keyboard (or I can use the numeric keypad on the outside). It can send text messages to email accounts and has a web browser. There is also a simplified front-end to gmail. And it has mobile AIM service (which I probably won't use).
