The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Liese, did you try running Quickbooks 2006 in XP compatibility mode?

The VOIP discussion is timely as my Verizon bill is just. too. damn. high. I'm terrified of potential problems with switching but this is ridiculous.

In other lame news, is it pathetic that I'm completely gutted that apple icards have been discontinued?

I've been a faithful user from the start...for quick, non-irritating greetings. Much more important in my business than you might imagine.

This morning, I've been trolling the other offerings and am totally skeeved by the midi-ridden, seizure inducing, dopey images, why, no, we don't trust you to be able to think up a greeting on your own, rubbish.

I seriously can't believe how disappointed and annoyed I am. Anybody have a cool alternative?

it is my understanding that the new Apple Mail program for 10.5 has a "Stationary" feature that allows you to create a card of sorts. As I don't have it, I can't say as to how well it works. But worth looking into. And yes, I agree, I loved the cards thing. So much easier, and some nice images too. Maybe the will bring it back. They brought back the Newton er um iPhone now.

I gave up Mail ages ago. I'm a Thunderbird girl, for sure.

Maybe the will bring it back.

I wish I knew someone of consequence in the company. I'm in a mood for complainingsuggesting this.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Any tips on upgrading a Mac to Leopard & FCS 2? (Like, can I just put the Leopard DVD in and go, or is there something I should do first? A non-default upgrade option that y'all would recommend? All the media is backed up on external drives already.)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

"Archive and Install" is always your best bet for upgrading Mac OS X.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

None of us here at work have had any problems going from Tiger -> Leopard. (Although one cow-orker had a hell of a time getting the Vista side of a dual-boot setup to recognize its registration code.)

The usual upgrade advice (have a backup!) always applies, but it's been spooky smooth for a good half-dozen of us who've upgraded a range of models, plus a handful of installs on new machines.

No experience with FCS2.

have y'all looked at the google home page today? They got the Google getting sucked into a black hole from the LHC. Rather entertaining, I thought.
