oh, that's cool. My u3 drive crapped out on me the other day, wouldn't let me add any documents to it (it was empty) Nice to know there might be a fix.
I did lose all my apps though, which is annoying--I have to set up 6 or more accounts in Thunderbird as well as find my key for my purchased copy of UltraEdit.
Can a U3 drive be stripped and made into just a plain drive? I'm not yet so sophisticated that I need a flash drive that can backup my files, boot my computer, and launch the space shuttle.
Does this affect you if you have cable?
Cable TV will eventually be going all-digital, too, but it will be on the cable company's own schedule, which may be before or after the over-the-air cutover date of February 2009.
And whenever your cable company does go all-digital, they will be more than happy to rent you a cable box that will work with your old TV, so you won't have to buy a new one.
how much should I offer him for the (26" or so) TV and DVD player?
Not much more than $50-$100.
Can a U3 drive be stripped and made into just a plain drive?
Yep--they should come with the instructions.
(Megan, you found a new apartment?! Where!?)
Well, that's in question. A friend is moving out of a a place in what RE agents like to refer to as "Lower Nob Hill", but I'm really not ready financially to move and they are raising the rent significantly from what he pays, so I'm trying to decide whether to take it or not.
According to the agent, places open up quite frequently and it's a big building, so its likely there will be something again before I absolutely have to move.
Has your friend found a place? If not, I think they take pets.
(I'll take it to email so that I don't hikack this lovely tech thread.)
Could you copy some other random file the same way and see where it saves files by default?
This is what I do - save another similar file and see where the computer wants to put it.
Best. Mistranslation. Ever. [link]
