Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Both my bosses are in line for iPhones. So I had to debug all this complex SQL that one of my bosses wrote (that I'd never looked at before) using a very slow remote connection to the client's office in Washington DC, while my boss talked to me on his cell, explaining what to look for in the stored procedures. Periodically our conversation was interrupted by the cheering of the folks in the iPhone line (every time someone walked out with a new iPhone, those in line cheered).

But I managed to find all the bugs, and the client is happy. The end.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Both my bosses are in line for iPhones.

Are they in this picture?

Nah. They went to an Apple store in some suburb, as it was closer than downtown Chicago .

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Well, I've completed the install of the new software on the phone, but now something is not seeing something....

iTunes can see the phone is connected, but can't actually see the phone itself, or the phone can't see the iTunes store through the iTunes interface, or something...

basically, the actually phone settings page won't show up in iTunes, and, as yet, I can't actually put new stuff on the phone. Or something.

Might have to eject again and restart the computer. Let's hope that does the trick.

Trust my rage

Well, after being down for a few hours, my iPhone is working again. eta: i had to plug my phone in and then disconnect it. Eventually, it worked.

Yeah, I've unplugged my phone and tried to start it up, but I'm basically getting an "Unactivated iPhone" screen.

It will only let me make an emergency call, and wants me to connect to iTunes, which isn't connecting the phone to the store.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Dear Buffistas,

Please stop making Jess want an iPhone. Jess does not need a new phone, and she already has an iPod Touch which can be upgraded w/ the new software.

Kthxbye,

Jess' Lizard Brain

I'ma restart everything and see how that goes (I had to totally restart in order to get the firmware *onto* the phone after download, so it should work....).
