Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Senuti is turning out to be great...and makes me share your recovered music glee Vortex. I was able to get some great latin/celtic jams off a friend's ipod too. yay for not having lost everything in the great doorstop incident of early 08.
Hmm, okay, thanks. I would like him to go to AT&T since then we'd be on the same plan and could talk free, but I didn't realize that Best Buy didn't have those plans. I will have to ponder.
As far as not wanting something fancy goes, his best bet would probably be to sign up with a contract and get one of the free phones, which tend to be pretty no-frills (though most of them will still have cameras).Yeah, I was thinking this, too.
Which still leaves him with a gift certificate to spend...would he have any use for a Bluetooth headset? He would, but whether he would actually use it is another question entirely.
Best buy has AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Virgin, and Go Mobile, and possibly Boost Mobile. He has plenty of options there.
Do you think he would prefer a flip phone or a candy bar phone?
Probably a flip phone so he doesn't have to lock/unlock it.
Also, I'm online and have a little time free if you're around.
The Nokia 2610 is a totally basic phone on the AT&T plan, not a flip phone though. It doesn't even have a camera.
I can't remember what it was called but last year I remember seeing ads for a phone that was just...a phone...with larger buttons for older folks. If I ever get a cell phone, it will probably be one like that.
