Does it need to be a car amp?
It'd need to be small and run off the 12V power system of a car.

Does it need to be a car amp? I think we have a couple dozen amps around the house. The car amp is designed to run off of the 12v car power. A home stereo one has a lot more gak to it, harder to weasle into your dash, and use more juice than you really need.
Ha! another xpost with Tommy. OK, I'm going back to work. Sorry, no more xposts for awhile.
Yeah, I'd just like to have something to listen to in the car or driving back home will be brutal.
I'm pretty sure Mr. Jane can wire it up, plus, I think he'll like the decoyness of it.
Are they cheap-ish?
The above is a link showing a graph of Tivo's net new subscribers over the years. I had no idea they were losing subscribers recently...
They were close to losing me and I don't see how they won't lose others--the switch to both HD TiVo and the per month (as opposed to lifetime) service were not working for me.
But if I can squeeze in under the wire and go HD and lifetime (assuming they stick around long enough...) then it's okay. Pricey, but okay. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost people by asking them to pay for the lifetime subscription all over again.
eta: And that's with me thinking they're the best thing since sliced bread.
Huh, I assumed most people used a left-side dock (um, that's left as you're looking at it, correct?). I always thought my right-side one was some sort of odd "hi, I am left-handed and thus crazy backwards all the time" thing
I use a bottom of the screen dock, just like the default. It's small and it's hidey. I can't imagine Leopard's increased space usage would bother me.
I keep my dock on the bottom of the screen but I also run big monitors at high resolution so that I have extra room. Even my laptop screen runs at 1920x1200.
I have my dock on the bottom, but now I'm going to try it on the left just to see what all the fuss is about. I predict it will feel weird and I will switch back before the end of the day because I am a creature of habit.
(I also don't like the new Gmail features. I'll probably like them soon, but right now they are strange and offputting.)
