Our wings are not tired

I keep my dock on the bottom of the screen but I also run big monitors at high resolution so that I have extra room. Even my laptop screen runs at 1920x1200.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have my dock on the bottom, but now I'm going to try it on the left just to see what all the fuss is about. I predict it will feel weird and I will switch back before the end of the day because I am a creature of habit.

(I also don't like the new Gmail features. I'll probably like them soon, but right now they are strange and offputting.)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I keep my dock on the right side, because of the arrangement of my monitors.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, I'm switching the dock from the right to the left (still with auto-hide). Stand by for sound of head exploding.

IORandomQuestionN, Window buttons - graphite; or red, yellow and green? I've used graphite from day one, as the three color ones bug me.

I've never used anything but graphite.

My boss is making a giant poster in Powerpoint (please don't ask me why powerpoint, I can't even fathom it). She is trying to put our University logo in it. It is an eps file. She normally add graphics to things by cutting and pasting them from either an original document, or a previous powerpoint or publisher file she has used (again, mine is not to reason why). She, understandably, cannot do this with these eps files. I showed her the "insert picture" function, which is, incidently, very frustrating to her for an unknown reason. However, when we insert the picture, it is inblisible. I did some googling and it sounds like eps and Microsoft Office products don't play well. Is there any solution? Should I open the eps file in illustrator and change it to some other format? Is there a best format to use in the manner she does?

Thanks!

This is a cool idea.

Eye-Fi has just announced the release of their new wireless SD memory card for digital cameras. The card, which they have been beta testing over the last year and a half, connects your local wi-fi network and automatically uploads photos stored on the card to your computer or to one of 17 online photo sharing services and social networks. The 2GB SD card is now available and is priced at $99.99.

Eye-Fi uses home wireless networks to eliminate the time-consuming chore of dealing with cables, card readers or software plug-ins associated with uploading photos. Users simply turn on their digital camera and their pictures are wirelessly uploaded. The Eye-Fi Card works with existing and new SD-compatible digital cameras and stores photos like a conventional SD memory card.

Sounds like it just automatically uploads pictures when in the presence of WiFi - Neato!

Sophia, .png or a high-res jpg will work. IIFC, the picture will turn out better if you size the graphic in Photoshop rather than in PowerPoint.

She's probably using PowerPoint because that's what she knows. If all you have is a hammer, you treat everything as if it's a nail.

Thanks Ginger! I am a little leery of the PowerPoint thing, because the last time a boss did a giant poster in powerpoint, the images looked like crap and I got blamed, even though all I did was burn the document and take it to the copy center.
