Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I would buy a Lisa right now, if cheap. Like under $30.
Preferably not one that had been "upgraded" to a MacXL, but I wouldn't run away too quickly.
Can I boast of my technological breakthrough? I have learned how to create search plug-ins for my work's research databases! I even figured out how to put in the EZProxy code! Fear my elite skills!
(It's actually really easy. There's a generator. But most of the people I work with don't even know what a search plug-in IS.)
You rock, flea!
Hey Hivemind: once again I have managed to accidentally hit that clever combination of keys which shows all the formatting (spaces, paragraphs etc.) in Outlook. Would anybody pretty please be able to tell me how to turn it off? It's on both my work computers now. Doh!
edit: I fixed it all by myself! yay me!
I want one of these: Microwulf: A Personal, Portable Beowulf Cluster
DIY.
over 26 Gflops of measured performance
Actual, not theoretical max.
As of Aug 1, 2007, Microwulf can be built for $1256, improving its price/performance ratio to less than $48/Gflop.
Now I gotta find something that actually needs that much computer power. Any ideas? Calculating biorhythms? Storing recipes?

Not to be a buzzkill, but could y'all maybe go a little easy on the jokes about you know what? (OS, starts with a V, you know.)
Some of us here have bits on that box, and it gets real old, real fast.
