Booting Vista.

Not to be a buzzkill, but could y'all maybe go a little easy on the jokes about you know what? (OS, starts with a V, you know.)
Some of us here have bits on that box, and it gets real old, real fast.
Good thing no one here worked on the Apple Lisa.
Sorry Plei, no offense meant. As I'm sure you know I depend on Windows OSes just as much as I do Mac. I'm holding off on the switch to Vista until more of the higher end audio interfaces are playing well with it.
Sensible plan, that!
My E70 came yesterday. It's certainly not as pretty as the Razr, or the Sony Ericsson that preceded that. But it's cool and does many things.
One of the big complaints in reviews was speed. I don't think I'm going to bump into that for a while. Shallowly my first task was customisation--it's all full up of sci fi TV theme music and Dr Who wallpaper (the device name is TARDIS--the unfolding form required that).
I'm trying to do stuff like getting it to grab mail over my wireless network when I'm at home. I am pretty sure I signed up for T Mobile's unlimited plan (I should go check, huh?) so it's only a matter of speed.
It will definitely take some getting used to. It's been a million years since I had a Nokia phone, and this is light years away from those early boxen.
Interestingly enough the unfolding keyboard requires me to type more honestly. I'm usually variable on which hands I use for the keys near the middle of the keyboard--I think I have some subconscious load balancing/speed optimisation happening there.
Amazon was the only place I saw it for sale at a reasonable price with a reputed vendor. They had a deal where you could get a pay-as-you-go international SIM for free, so I snagged that as well. I don't know what their rates are like, but, hey, free.
Lots to explore.
Of course, the Apple Lisa is what convinced me that the industry was created solely for my benefit. What? I was eight!
I'd love an Apple Lisa, but only if I could get one with the 5.25" twiggy drives.
I'd love an Apple Lisa
Me too.
Of course, they're collectible now. You can get a Lisa on eBay for around $300 (eta: Lisa 2, actually). A system with "very rare extras" went for $1025. [link]
