One day I need to figure out if an indoor OTA antenna will work here. I do miss PBS.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We have a TV that's new enough to pick up digital signals, so we get about 8 PBS stations. Seriously. So much Word Girl and Masterpiece Theatre.

For some reason, my Smart TV, which connects me to almost everything else via built-in WiFi, does not have any sort of built-in antenna.

I used to get basic channels via the existing cable, but now Comcast encrypts everything here. (Coming soon to a state near you, assuming most companies will eventually take advantage of the recent FCC ruling).

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

megan, I have at least one and maybe two OTA antennae that do me no good because there is just nothing to pick up here (well, there is one independent station that shows random old movies with a LOT of local commercials, but that's it). Let me know if you want to give it/them a try.

-t, I would love to try them out. Much of what I want to watch is on Hulu/Netflix so it didn't seem worth buying one only to find there's interference or something.

I'll let you know when I lay my hands on them (I stashed them somewhere when they didn't get any channels) and we can figure out then how best to get them to you.

I appreciate it! No rush, for sure.

Hey. New board.

I have found that Hulu + CBS.com is better for me than a DVR anyway. I suppose I could possibly drop Hulu if I had it, but it would take many years of Hulu to pay for this (and the hard drive) and I watch some Hulu things that aren't OTA anyway.

I was shopping like mad for something like that about 2 years ago and it wasn't available. Almost built a MythTV to do it, but got price-point burn. Now that it is available, I no longer want it. I've adjusted to the streaming options exclusively and see no need to go back.

I'm pretty much addicted to Hulu+ at this point, although I don't love the updates to the queue layout.
